Teesside is undergoing a huge transformation and the historic Redcar Blast furnace is scheduled for demolition next week. With this in mind the Cleveland Art Society organised for a day trip to sketch the final days of this historic site. I took along my oils and captured the icon during a break in the weather. This is the time when impressionism comes into its own when painting plein air, fighting the elements and wanting to capture a moment in time.
