Teesside is undergoing a huge transformation and the historic Redcar Blast furnace is scheduled for demolition next week. With this in mind the Cleveland Art Society organised for a day trip to sketch the final days of this historic site. I took along my oils and captured the icon during a break in the weather. The photos are curtesy of Alan Morley the secretary and organiser of all things arty. This is the time when impressionism comes into its own when painting plein air, fighting the elements and wanting to capture a moment in time.
