Drawing with ink and snow.
As the seasons change and the snow has cleared, its time to reflect on some of the work I have been doing over the winter. After moving to the Clyde valley I have been going on long walks getting to know the area. I take a sketchbook and some drawing bits but the ink pens have inspired me the most this year. I have been able to quickly record the area and use the snow as a blending medium. This helps keep the images fresh and lively. I try not to put in to much detail but just give a quick impression of the scene. These can then be worked up back in the studio. I have built up the images using a sense of memory into mixed media sketches and then into oils.
Love these Garth. Glad your move’s inspiring you.
