Upcoming Workshops

Painting Movement & Energy — £35

Watercolour & inks | 22 October | 2:00–4:00pm

Explore how to bring a sense of life, rhythm and movement into your artwork. This session focuses on expressive mark-making and loose, confident painting techniques.

  • Capture subjects such as cyclists, horses, dancers and people in motion.

  • Begin with loose drawing before developing the painting.

  • Learn how to suggest movement without painting every detail.

Paint Like an Impressionist — £40

Oils | 10 November | 10:00am–12:00pm

Discover the freedom of Impressionist-inspired painting, using colour, atmosphere and intuitive brushwork to create lively, expressive artwork.

  • Work quickly and intuitively.

  • Focus on colour, light and feeling rather than precise drawing.

  • Build confidence using oils in a fresh and expressive way.

From Sketchbook to Painting — £95

Including a light lunch

Pen, ink, watercolour, oils & mixed media | 19 January 2027 | 10:00am–4:00pm

Turn small ideas into finished artwork in this practical full-day workshop. Ideal for anyone who gathers sketches and ideas but is unsure how to develop them into a larger, more resolved piece.

  • Start with pen, ink or watercolour sketches.

  • Develop ideas into a larger oil or mixed-media painting.

  • Learn practical ways to move from first marks to a finished composition.

The Expressive Figure — £25 per session

17 January | Morning 10:00am–12:00pm | Afternoon 2:00–4:00pm

Book both sessions for £40

Explore the figure through two complementary sessions: a clothed figure in the morning and a nude figure in the afternoon.

Building on previous figure work, this workshop encourages expressive observation rather than anatomical perfection. You will explore proportion, gesture and movement, with artists such as Matisse, Picasso and Lowry as creative starting points.

  • Explore the clothed and nude figure through expressive drawing and painting.

  • Focus on gesture, movement and proportion.

  • Use inspiring artist references to loosen and develop your approach.

  • Work towards an expressive figure painting.
