Capturing the essence of the race

Recently I was asked to create a series of paintings for Hamilton Races. I have created a new work for each of the 12 suites. I wanted to capture the essence of the races with nod to the Hamilton track. These are all based on flat racing which is the format of these races. I don't paint anotomicly correct horse but aim to recreate the mood of the races with colour and sense of movement. Source: Capturing the essence of the race
