My watercolour classes are aimed at all levels whether you a complete beginner or wanting to refresh your skills. My aim is to give you a subject and a starting point and allow you to develop your own style. All classes start with a demonstration and some pointers and then you will be let loose to create. My own style is loose and flowing but finding your own style is the main outcome. I spend time with each person individually to help guide along the process.
Week one: Still life
One of the classic time-honoured introductions to painting. This will allow you to observe and copy what you see in front of you. Many of the great painters have created still lives at one point from Cezanne to Michelangelo and Ambrosius Bosschaert in the classical Flemish style. I will provide fruits and objects but you are welcome to bring a treasured object to add to the mix.
Week two: Landscapes
This week we will look at our natural word with landscapes coming to the fore. Think autumn colours, leaves and patterns.
Week three: Pets and animals
Bring along a picture of you favourite non-human love. From birds, beagles, or bats to horses, hounds, and hares there is no limit to your inspiration.
Week four: People
From ballet to farmers to kids running in the park. Let’s explore those joyous moments in all our lives.
Week five: Portraits
If you feel brave bring a mirror and create the ultimate selfie or a picture of head and shoulders. Your celebrity muse or a pic from a magazine will work too.
REFUND POLICY
We understand that sometimes plans change and before a class or workshop starts, people may need to alter their plans. At the same time however, we pride ourselves on paying tutors a fair wage for their work and want to maintain a good reputation with our partners in business by paying venues and caterers in a timely fashion. To that end, we have decided to set out a refund policy so that our customers understand our position on refunds and understand their rights for making a refund claim if they wish to cancel their bookings with us. When someone cancels, it costs us money to process the refund through the use of payment services. Though, we would like to point out that cancellations does not just affect our business, it affects the tutors, venues, caterers and takes up a space for anyone else wishing to attend if the class is at full capacity.
In the event Yorkshire Community Learning is compelled to cancel a class/ event, the customer is eligible to a full refund and the terms set out below are wavered.
35 days or more before start date/ event - 100% refund (minus £10 administration cost)
34 - 24 days before start date/event - 75% refund
25 - 20 days before the start date/event - 50% refund
21 - 14 days before the start date/event - 25% refund
15 days before the start date/event - No refund
Please note, all refunds may take between 5 - 10 business days to reach your account. This time delay is not due to Yorkshire Community Learning, it is simply the time it takes for third party payment processors to send the money to your account.
